The World Award in Bodypainting & Show will again open the 2027 World Bodypainting Festival season with an extraordinary championship experience in Spain.
The competition will take place on 31st January 2027 in the coastal city of Águilas on the Costa Cálida, surrounded by the vibrant atmosphere of the famous Carnaval de Águilas.
This unique category combines the art of bodypainting with performance, movement, music, and storytelling. Artists are invited to bring their creations to life on stage and transform their painted models into unforgettable characters. Creativity, technical skill, presentation, and overall visual impact all come together in one spectacular show.
With its beautiful Mediterranean beaches, sunny climate, and rich maritime history, Águilas provides an inspiring setting for this special event. Visitors can explore the historic San Juan de las Águilas Castle, enjoy outstanding local seafood, and experience the relaxed atmosphere of this charming seaside town.
Águilas is especially renowned for its spectacular Carnival, one of Spain’s most iconic celebrations, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Since 2015, the Carnaval de Águilas has officially been recognised as a Festival of International Tourist Interest.
