The World Bodypainting Association (WBA) was founded in Austria in October 2001, growing out of the annual World Bodypainting Festival. It brings together artists, enthusiasts, and companies worldwide through various events and education programs. While the WBA has already established bodypainting as an art form, we continue to connect creative minds and push boundaries.
Everybody interested in the art form of body- and facepainting, make-up and special effects is very welcome to join the association.
Because the WBA is such an important part in the World of Bodypainting, we want to show on our World Bodypainting Festival's website some selected competitions, where our organisation is also part of.

Hvar Bodypainting Festival 2025
Hvar: 31 May - 1 June 2025
For the past two years, the event has taken place on the beautiful island of Hvar, Croatia. Following this success, we are excited to announce the 3rd Hvar Bodypainting Festival, which will take place on 31st May and 1st June 2025!
The first day will feature an exciting contest where artists will compete in two categories, inspired by the theme of "Tropical Chic." On the second day, artists can showcase their creativity in a relaxed jam session. With Hvar as the backdrop, this promises to be an unforgettable celebration of art and community.
