The World Bodypainting Association (WBA) was founded in Austria in October 2001, growing out of the annual World Bodypainting Festival. It brings together artists, enthusiasts, and companies worldwide through various events and education programs. While the WBA has already established bodypainting as an art form, we continue to connect creative minds and push boundaries.
Everybody interested in the art form of body- and facepainting, make-up and special effects is very welcome to join the association.
Because the WBA is such an important part in the World of Bodypainting, we want to show on our World Bodypainting Festival's website some selected competitions, where our organisation is also part of.

Hvar Bodypainting Festival 2026
Hvar: 13th & 14th June 2026
After three wonderful years on the stunning island of Hvar, Croatia, we’re thrilled to return once again for the 4th Hvar Bodypainting Festival 2026!
The event will take place on June 13th and 14th, bringing together artists, models, and photographers for another unforgettable celebration of art, color, and community.
The first day will feature an exciting bodypainting contest with two categories inspired by a fresh new theme, while the second day invites everyone to a relaxed jam session by the sea.
Photographers are welcome too! Capture the creativity, emotions, and beauty of this unique open-air art experience on one of Croatia’s most beautiful islands.
