The theme

Held during the world-famous Carnival de Águilas, the competition brought together outstanding international artists who transformed the human body into breathtaking works of art under the powerful theme: “Circus – Balancing Fantasy and Reality.”

The theme invited competitors to explore the fascinating contrasts between illusion and authenticity, magic and emotion, spectacle and subtlety. From dramatic acrobatic-inspired designs to poetic interpretations of circus characters, the artists created living masterpieces that blurred the boundaries between imagination and reality. Each performance combined technical excellence in bodypainting with captivating stage presence, making the show category a true highlight of the carnival celebrations. The level of artistry was exceptional, reflecting the global standard of the World Bodypainting Association. The winners impressed the international jury with their creativity, precision, storytelling, and overall visual impact, earning their titles as the first World Champions of the 2026 season. WBF Spain 2026 in Águilas once again demonstrated how bodypainting transforms not only the human body, but also entire cities—filling the streets with color, inspiration, and international artistic exchange.
