The World Award: Camouflage category is a special part of the World Bodypainting Festival, inspired by the famous technique where artists paint models to blend into the background. This award has celebrated the skill of creating optical illusions that challenge the eye. The competition takes place over two days in the center of the charming town of Sterzing/Vipiteno, in the Italian Alps.
Known for its colorful streets, medieval buildings, and mountain views, it feels like a place from a postcard. The town’s welcoming atmosphere and historic charm make it the perfect setting for an event where art becomes part of the surroundings.

With Johannes Stötter as one of the leading artists in bodypainting, you will have the opportunity to learn from his expertise, gain valuable tips and tricks, and understand the "hows and whys" behind spectacular bodypainting effects. Starting with the development of a structured plan, you will experience how to establish a fast and effective workflow for creating captivating images for the public eye.

July 12th and 13th are our two main event days. The World Bodypainting Award in the camouflage category will take place in the old town of Sterzing/Vipiteno.
>Artists will demonstrate their skills in this difficult category at 15 different locations in and around the old town of Vipiteno.
At the same time, artists will have the opportunity to give free rein to their creativity in a Creative Bodypainting Jam Session in the town. Here, artists have the opportunity to exchange ideas with other artists and paint freely, try out new techniques or simply enjoy the creative energy.
